There are so many variables to figuring out the price for screen printing that this is one of the hardest things to do in our industry. We have tried to simplify this as much as possible for out clients by incorporating various components of the pricing calculation into larger groups that are easier to understand. For instance, we try to capture film/screen generation, press setup, ink cost, and the actual printing into the over all price of each individual garment so all the client needs to know is what the price of the garment cost.

Probably the greatest confusion for clients is when they have the same color, but in multiple Design Locations. An example is a client may look at their project and see that they have Gold and Navy in a Design Location on the front of their selected product (e.g. t-shirt, hoodie) and then Red and Navy in a Design Location on the back. The overwhelming majority of printing on fabric, such as a t-shirts, hoodies, aprons, etc. is performed using what is commonly referred to as Spot Color, 4-Color Process, or Indexed Color. DTG Printer
Direct To Garment is a process that uses a special printer, generally a variation on an Ink Jet printer, along with special ink, to print directly from a computer to a t-shirt. This special DTG printer is customized so that you can feed one t-shirt at a time into the printer and it will spray multiple ink colors on the shirt similar to printing ink onto a piece of paper. This has certain advantages, but is only viable under certain circumstances.
