The customer on hand has always brought jobs that correlated with the price that he earned for the consistency he brought when the company was in its growing period. Okay, so now this particular customer is taking whatever job that comes his way and filtering it through us. Because of this turbulence has created whirlwinds that are affecting the companyís future growth.
Screen printing is viewed in so many different ways. The view of the owner, the view of the inexperienced printer, the view of the production manager, the view of a steady employee, the view of the sales rep, etc. So, production has the view that honestly really counts because that is where the money is filtered through. Screen cleaning, set-ups, inventory, etc. So when this particular customer is throwing us a job that literally takes several days (costing all production in the process) we have a problem.
The problem has hit production several times and finally we all met to figure it out. From a production standpoint this guy is costing us time, money, and resources. From a sales standpoint he is valuable. The two departments needed to come together to put facts on the table in order to figure out what is best for the company.
